An Epic of Secrets and Silence

The Hierophant worldbuilding hub

This site is the working compendium for The Hierophant. I am building the world so I can write the novel: its histories, languages, calendars, and the orders shaped by secrecy. Here I collect the lore, test ideas, and share notes on how it all comes together. The blog tracks progress, process, and the tools I am using to make this story real.

About the Book

Every secret changes the shape of the world.

The Hierophant is a story about the power of secrecy: the force that shapes nations, divides companions, and corrodes the heart. In a world where knowledge is guarded like a weapon, silence becomes both armor and art. Every hidden truth distorts the light, bending love into control, trust into possession, and faith into manipulation.

Dreams offer escape, but even they are policed. To survive is to conceal, to learn the language of omission, to trade confession for safety. The deeper the secrets run, the more the world bends around them, until truth itself becomes an act of violence.

The Hierophant is not a story of redemption, but of transformation and consequence for a world that mistakes secrecy for order, and silence for grace.

Genre

mythopoeic fiction

/ˌmɪθ.oʊˈpiː.ɪk/ noun

A mode of narrative literature in which an author deliberately constructs an original mythology, complete with its own cosmology, metaphysical order, and sacred narratives, and uses that invented mythic framework to explore questions of meaning, morality, creation, or the divine. The mythic material is presented as internally authoritative within the world of the story, not as allegory or borrowed folklore, but as a newly made body of myth that shapes the culture, history, and worldview of the fictional setting.
